"No acquisition is more important than the human one - no investment more valuable. Each of our employees represents an opportunity for innovation and business growth."
Doug Schatz, Advanced Energy’s Founder and Chairman of the Board
Who are we?
Advanced Energy is a global leader in the development, marketing, and support of integrated technology solutions that are central in the manufacture of semiconductors, data storage products, and flat panel displays as well as other mission-critical power applications. Customers throughout the world use AE's products where plasma-based, thin-film technology is a critical function in their manufacturing processes. This technology is used to manufacture semiconductors, CD-ROMs, DVDs, compact disks, flat panel displays, disk drives, and optical and architectural glass.
AE's primary objective is to maintain profitable, sustained, rapid growth through the vigorous pursuit of opportunities in existing and new markets. This growth provides new jobs for more people, new assignments for existing employees, and new challenges in existing jobs. It also generates funds for the betterment of all—company, employees, and community. Satisfied customers make strong growth possible. We will continue to be successful because we pay attention to the needs of our customer. It is imperative that AE, our people, and the products we build deliver value that contributes to the increasing success of each customer. Quality products, quick response to new requirements, immediate attention to problems, and our "can-do" attitude are what we have to sell. We can never forget that our customers don't just buy hardware—they buy our labor, skills, enthusiasm, and support. We recognize the importance of the people we invite to be members of our team.
Each employee represents an opportunity for innovation and business growth. In return, we strive to provide a challenging, respectful atmosphere that encourages problem solving, professional growth, and open communication. We focus on regular communication to all employees through quarterly meetings, a company newsletter, e-mail, and our growing Intranet site. Weekly staff meetings help us understand the needs of the immediate business, communicate changing priorities, identify resource limitations, and examine new opportunities.
Our industry demands innovative solutions, prompting many of our employees to continue their education. In addition to on-the-job training, we also support external seminars, professional certifications, and society memberships.
Many of our employees decide to further their education by taking advantage of our educational assistance program. All of our facilities are in close proximity to top national universities. AE frequently hosts tours from local schools to give students a perspective on career opportunities and the latest technology. Employees receive written feedback on their performance at least annually. AE conducts a formal compensation review once a year, ensuring that we pay competitively. We recognize that benefits are an important part of total compensation and, therefore, we also examine our benefits package annually. Participation in most health insurance plans and our 401(k) plan is allowed at the first of the month following hire date. Our 401(k) plan offers a competitive employer match and a diverse mix of funds to invest in.
AE encourages employees to balance work and non-work activities by providing a variety of on-site health-related activities for employees and their families , including flu shots; blood pressure, hearing, and vision checks; walks; and brown-bag lunch seminars. The benefits package also includes discounts to local health clubs for employees and family members.
AE supports employee interaction through a variety of social events such as a winter holiday event and a family summer picnic. Many employees also find satisfaction by supporting their community through participation in United Way, food drives, toy drives, and fundraising for partners.
